Meet HYpharm next week at the @AMR Conference in Basel!
What topics will be discussed at the upcoming AMR Conference? Here is a glimpse at the session „Pathogen reduction approaches to prevent Hashtag#AMR“:
Surgical procedures can lead to important complications such as longer post-operative hospital stays, additional surgical procedures, treatment in intensive care units and higher mortality leading to increased healthcare costs, considerable morbidity, longer hospital stays, increased healthcare costs, and mortality.
Pathogen reduction is an emerging strategy to prevent infection with antimicrobial-resistant healthcare-associated pathogens, making surgical procedures less risky.
In the session moderated by Ingrid Wanninger, HYpharm GmbH:
👉 Bernhard Krismer, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen will introduce the innovative pathogen reduction concept and provide an overview of the different options available to avoid postoperative infections.
👉 Elda Righi Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust will present the recently published ESCMID – European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases guidelines for decolonization of multidrug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria before inpatient surgery.
👉 PD Dr. med. habil. Stefan Hagel, M.Sc., Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena will depict the clinical situation and the use and limitation of different prevention methods.
👉 Dr. Radu Botgros, European Medicines Agency will share the insights from regulators and discuss the possible role of microbiological endpoints.
